Chapter 3 Jealousy

As he gets to the door he opens it slowly and walks in, it’s a room with someone in a wheelchair sitting quietly looking lifeless. “Hello, hello are you ok” segun asks but there is no response, he keeps his distance and looks at the person in the wheelchair who appears to be staring back at him. “do you know where we are” segun asks as he slowly approaches the man in the chair but still no response, as he gets a bit close to the person in the chair he realizes it’s his best friend dapo sitting in the chair looking older and like someone waiting for death to come.

 He picks his pace and hurries to meet dapo, “dapo, dapo” is this you “how did you get here, I thought I was alone, do you know where we are” he asks anxiously but dapo just keeps a straight face with no sign of emotion, he had a blank face.  He soon realises his best friend is not his usual self and appears to be like a zombie, the door slams shut causing a loud bang sound, segun turns nervously as he hears the sound.  

His heart begins to pound fast and hard, so hard that he segun begins to hear his heart beat out of his chest, he crabs hold of his chest and begins to panic looking round the room and then at his friend as if asking for help or a plan to escape the hell which he had found himself.  But dapo just stares into space lost and in limbo, segun then takes a couple of deep breathes to relax himself but it doesn’t seem to help, he taps his friend dapo on the arm in an attempt to wake him up from whatever trance he was in, “dapo dapo, you need to wake up we can’t stay here, dapo dapo” he continues tapping him and begins to get aggressive then suddenly dapo turns his head and faces segun.

 As segun sees his face he falls to the ground in fear, because dapo appeared to be shedding tears but what scared segun was the tears appeared or looked like blood dripping from his eyes. He dapo turns his head back and maintains his previous position, back to looking like a statue, a few drops of the blood tears drops on the floor and some on dapos shirt. Segun is on the floor shaking and looking very nervous, he looks like he is in a state of shock but a couple of seconds later he whispers some words to himself and . 

“Dapo what have they done to you my friend”  he looks at dapo who continues to stare into space with the blood tears drying up on his face.  Seguns attention is drawn when he hears the sound of what seems to be two men having a conversation, he looks round the room to try figure out where the conversation is coming from, and out of the blues there is another door red color which was not present when he had entered the room. 

He looks at dapo “I will be right back” he gets up and walks to the door, he tries to open it but its lock, he then bangs on the door real hard and asking who is there. He can hear the conversation going on and it is coming from the other side of the door, he notices the door has a peephole and looks through it, he looks shocked and looks away from the peephole, “it can’t be” he says to himself breathing heavily. He then turns around and takes a look at his dapo who is still in the same position like a statue then he tries opening the door again but it’s still locked he then puts his ears to the door to try and listen or hear what the conversation is about but it’s not really clear, he then takes another look through the peephole.  Trough the peephole he can see himself sitting on the bed with a doctor sitting on a chair beside him.

Segun is on a bed at the other side of the door in another room, the doctor sitting beside him tells him he will soon be up and about that he just needs a little more rest. Segun smiles, the doctor continues to look at his chart then he drops the chart and stares at segun for a couple of seconds the says “I’ve noticed you have not had any visitors since you arrived here, you seem to be a nice person but don’t you have any family or friends, if you don’t mind me asking” segun smiles and tells the doctor that he has a family and a lot of friends but nobody really cares about him, telling the doctor how hurtful it felt that all his friends and his family which he was extremely nice to had abandoned him in his time of need, “doctor am all alone, nobody loves me”. 

The doctors face is expressionless as he stares at segun who is also staring back they both look like they are in a trance when there is sudden sound from the other side of the door, they both look at the door turning their heads slower than usual. The other side of the door segun looks away from the peep hole turns around to see a sliding door closing slowly. He runs to the door and tries to stop it from closing but he is not strong enough he then goes to dapo “we are getting out of here” he says, he tries to push the wheelchair put its feels like it’s been hammered to the ground permanently he tries to push but nothing seems to be happening, he takes a look at the door which continues to close then bells begin to ring as the light in the room segun is in begin to deem slowly. 

He then tries to get dapo out of the chair to carry him but dapo feels heavier than usual and he does not have enough strength to lift him up he tries over and over again looking back at the sliding door from time to time but his efforts are futile. He takes another look at the door which is almost closing and the room is beginning to get dark, tears drop from his eyes as he kneels in front of dapo holding his hands, “forgive me my friend” he gets up takes one more look at dapo who just stays still motion less. He runs towards the door and jumps trough it as he looks back he sees as the entire room goes dark as the sliding door closes. He tries to open it but its shut tight, he turns around as he hears what sounds like an elevator bell.
