Chapter 5  The awakening

Segun emerges from a bathtub filled with water, he screams as he tries to catch his breath, he wipes his face an immediately checks his chest where his mother had stabbed him. He runs his hands across his chest looking for a stab wound but there is nothing he then realizes that his cloths have changed he is wearing all white, shirt and trousers. 

He looks around the room while breathing heavily like a person who is recovering from drowning he gets out of the tub and lies on the ground crying while holding on to his chest and shivers as he is soaking wet. He continues crying and lamenting, “I’m going to die here” he continues to weep then he hears foot steps behind him as he turns around he sees a mirror on the wall and a towel.

 

He gets up and goes to the mirror he takes the white towel to clean his face as he looks into the mirror. On the other side of the mirror there are three people standing there looking at segun as he wipes his face, the mirror is transparent from the other side. The three individuals are wearing black hooded coats their back view is all that is shown they stand there watching him as he wipes his face crying for a few seconds then segun turns around in his side and notices a door and the shadows of people walking pass, he begins to hear sounds as if he was in an office, telephones ringing and people chatting.  

He drops the towel and heads to the door, he opens it and walks into what looks like a hospitals reception with people dressed like nurses and doctors and some people sitting on a bench waiting. He notices his cloths are all dry as he runs his hands across his body in disbelief, then he hears his name as he turns around its one of the nurses calling him, she is sitting down in the receptions office. She waves her hands and makes hand gestures telling him to come over; he looks around the room which is busy with different activities going on. He gets to the nurses desk then she goes through some files she gives him brief stares as she goes through the different files, he tries to ask questions but she interrupts him with scary stares her eyes were deep blue and looked like fire was burning in them the blue flame type of fire. Her skin was very light, after a few minutes she  gives him a number tag and tells him she would call him when it’s his turn “where am I and what am I doing here” he asks the nurse as he collects the tag “when it’s your turn to go in all your questions will be answer, when it’s your turn I will call you, be patient” she smiles then looks into a register and calls another person’s number he turns around looking at the tag then he hears the nurse call his name he turns around again, she points to a waiting area and tells him to take a sit there. 

He takes a sit then notices when the nurse calls a number people sitting in the waiting area like him are directed  to a door the door is yellow like, gold yellow he realises the people who go in don’t come out and more people keep going in, he looks around the waiting area at people sitting around him. After a few minutes his number is called and is directed to the golden yellow door he goes to the door without asking any questions even though some seconds ago he had been planning what questions to ask the nurse about the golden door, it was as if he was under mind control. He opens the door and enters a white room with two doors still feeling like he is under mind control he closes the door, as soon as the door shuts he starts feeling like his normal self he notices the two doors in the room one was red while the other was blue. 

He walks towards the doors then he hears a door shut behind him he turns around and sees that the golden yellow door is gone, he continues to approach the doors then decides to go for the blue door but its locked he tries to open it trying to force it but its locked, then he turns slowly to the red door takes a deep breath as he turns the knob the door is not locked. 

He turns the knob all the way then pulls the door slowly peeping into the door trying to get a glance of what is on the other side, he can’t see anything so he decides to open a bit more as he does that he realizes the other side of the door is in complete darkness then the church bell begins to ring as he sees the darkness he quickly tries to close the door but he can’t as there seems to be some force from the other side pushing the door open, he tries with his power trying to push the door shut put the force on the other side over powers him, he lets go of the door realizing he can’t hold any longer as the door opens darkness begins to come into the room from the other side of the red door, segun runs across the room trying to avoid the darkness creeping in, he screams as he runs to the other side of the room but in a matter of seconds the whole room is covered in total darkness segun screams in terror as the sound of the bells ring very loud.

He jumps up in his bed like someone who just had a nightmare he is in his bed back in his real room, he sits on the bed covering his face with his hands he notices something ringing in the room it’s his phone alarm he looks at it picks it up to see the time is 3.30am he is shocked and still dazed and confused he throws the phone on the bed after turning the alarm off then looks around his room to know if he is really back home he checks his chest and sees nothing then he holds his face as he sits in his bed confused and trying to figure out what had just happened to him.
